 The constitutional law expert is a former Federal Minister of Defence. He was also Senator for Justice and Federal Affairs of the State of Berlin. He is co-author and editor of the commentary on the Basic Law by Maunz, Dürig, Herzog, Scholz, which is considered a standard work.

The diplomat was Ambassador to the United Kingdom and India and Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations. He then became Head of Public Affairs at Deutsche Bank, Chairman of the Alfred Herrhausen Society and Member of the Steering Committee of the Königswinter Conference. He is Vice Chairman of the Board of the Aspen Institute.

The Swedish manager is ex-CEO of the energy company Vattenfall AB and was Climate Protection Commissioner to German Chancellor Angela Merkel. He advised the UN Secretary-General on energy and climate change issues. He is an honorary professor of physics at the University of Cottbus.  

The diplomat was appointed State Secretary and Head of the Office of the Federal President by Federal President Horst Köhler in 2004. In 2008, at the suggestion of Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, he took over the chairmanship of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future. From 2009 to 2015, Jansen was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation German-Israeli Future Forum. 

The CDU politician was a member of the European Parliament for almost 40 years. From 1999 to 2017, he chaired the Foreign Affairs Committee there. Mr Brok is Vice-President of the Christian Democratic International and was also President of the Union of European Federalists (UEF) from 2013 to 2018. He has also held the Chair of the European Endowment for Democracy (EED). 

The Finn spent 18 years in various executive positions at the energy company Vattenfall. In 2005, he became Senior Executive Vice President of Vattenfall AB. In 2008 he took over as Chairman of the Board of Vattenfall GmbH. 

The politician and graduate chemist was Senator for the Environment in Hamburg. As CEO, headed the energy companies Repower Systems and RWE Innogy. He is an honorary professor of chemistry at the University of Hamburg.
